Exhibition | Beyond the Gilded Cage
Beyond the Gilded Cage is the latest group exhibition currently on display at The Art Space Collective in Scarborough. Artists featured in this exhibition drew inspiration and creative expression for their works from the words of Stephen King in The Shawshank Redemption...
“Some birds are not meant to be caged, that’s all. Their feathers are too bright, their songs too sweet and wild. So you let them go, or when you open the cage to feed them they somehow fly out past you. And the part of you that knows it was wrong to imprison them in the first place rejoices, but still, the place where you live is that much more drab and empty for their departure”
Submissions ranging from photography, paintings, etchings, literature, giclee prints, and hand lettering combine to make this exhibition particularly unique and inspiring. I was thrilled to be invited to produce a photographic work for inclusion and even more thrilled that limited edition print 'galah' is keeping company with some of Western Australia's finest.
Beyond the Gilded Cage runs until August 25th. Please show your support for this dynamic community space by popping down for a visit during gallery hours :: Mo - Fr 10am-2pm. Contact the Art Space Collective for all art sales enquiries.
