Exhibition | Homecoming - A beautiful industry collaboration
October 2019 saw a unique collaboration between a bevy of local beauties come to fruition. A simple concept to present a solo exhibition of the latest acrylic and pastel artworks from artist Alisha Falconer in the warmth and intimacy of a truly home grown setting. Facilitated by Deb of Spreading Roomers the doors were literally thrown open on a bright Spring day for this one-off industry event.
A stunningly curated release of bold and textural abstracts and botanicals was presented in the home of stylist Andrea Pienaar of Siba Interiors. No small feet for a busy Mum of three boys! Andrea’s charming cottage home in Shenton Park was transformed to accommodate the well considered styling choices hand picked to compliment the palette presented in each of Alisha’s pieces.
Alisha has been painting ever since she can remember. Having always loved art and colour, she still recalls vivid memories of her extended box of crayons in year one, and how exciting it was to have a coral crayon! Alisha takes a great deal of inspiration from our Australian landscapes but is not limited by them, choosing her tones carefully to sit effortlessly in many a setting.
I had the pleasure of sneaking in the day before the event to photograph the artworks and to soak up the ‘zen’ of pre exhibition chaos! To view the entire Homecoming collection please visit Alisha’s website at www.alishafalconer.com or contact Alisha direct to arrange a viewing time.
